Mid-Century Modern Living Space
by Annie Sloan
Honfleur is a warm brown that was often seen in mid-century interiors. Use it alongside accents of Barcelona Orange and Provence, and you have achieved the perfect mid-century palette.
The design of this room takes its inspiration from mid-century interiors. Everything has been painted in Chalk Paint – even the fabric on the lampshade has been dyed. The walls have been painted with Wall Paint in Provence and the cupboards in Chalk Paint in Honfleur. Accents of colours like Barcelona Orange and Primer Red perfect the mid-century look.
The patterns on the doors were inspired by mid-century design and painted in a broad palette of Chalk Paint colours: Louis Blue, Primer Red, Arles, Barcelona Orange, Old White and Graphite.
The fabric on the lampshade was dyed in Chalk Paint using a shibori technique. To find out how to make a lampshade like this click here.
