Assistant Accountant

Annie Sloan Interiors Ltd is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts team.

The position is full-time and the successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday each week.

Duties

As a member of the Accounts team, you will report directly to the Accountant.

Duties will include, but is not limited to:

  • Bank Reconciliation of several bank accounts in GBP, USD, EUR currencies
  • Account reconciliations for Stockists and Distributors
  • Accounts payable including making payment runs including processing invoices on main bank account, setting up templates and ensuring correct authorisation of payments
  • Accounts receivable including reconciling all incoming monies, processing credit notes, sending out debtor statements and checking daily receipts to ensure orders can be released as efficiently as possible
  • Run ageing analysis and produce credit control reports, analyse, and feedback at meeting.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Credit control duties including running credit checks and following up with any debt recovery via telephone/ letters & emails to ensure payment is received in a timely fashion. Logging and monitoring of overdue amounts with our external debt collection service.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to emails including main ‘accounts’ and ‘purchasing’ email addresses
  • Assisting with quarterly VAT returns
  • Processing and invoicing for monthly commission and recharges
  • Any other ad hoc duties to support the Accountancy team and company

Entry Requirements:

We are looking for someone with a professional work ethic, a desire to achieve well and keen attention to detail.

Essential:

  • 5 GCSE’s qualifications at grade A* – C (including Mathematics)
  • AAT level 3 or equivalent qualified
  • At least 12 months experience working in a finance role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and spoken
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Confident and courteous telephone manner
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop own skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and good level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage own workload and work independently as well as in a cooperative spirit with others
  • Logical and analytic approach to work with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Able to adapt to new processes and procedures reacting positively to change
  • Full understanding of the need for discretion and confidentiality
  • Be responsible for ensuring that key tasks are completed within strict deadlines
  • A positive “can do” approach to tasks and problem solving

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a customer facing role
  • Previous experience using accounts software

Study Support for AAT or equivalent qualifications

Salary circa: £23K- £25K based on level of experience and qualifications. Annual review based on performance

Working hours: Monday – Friday with a 1-hour lunch break (hours to be agreed)

Finance Assistant

Annie Sloan Interiors Ltd is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Accounts team.

The position is full-time and the successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday each week.

Duties

As a member of the Accounts team, you will report directly to the Accountant.

Duties will include, but is not limited to:

  • Account reconciliations for Stockists and Distributors
  • Accounts payable including raising orders, coding, goods receipting, posting invoices, reconciling of supplier statements to purchase ledger,
  • Accounts receivable including reconciling all incoming monies, processing credit notes, sending out debtor statements and checking daily receipts to ensure orders can be released as efficiently as possible
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to emails including the main ‘accounts’ email address
  • Manage & reconcile credit card statements and post monthly journals of expenses
  • Maintain up to date records and a comprehensive filing system in line with audit requirements
  • Petty cash reconciliation and posting of journals
  • Any other ad hoc duties to support the Accountancy team and company

Mid-weight Graphic Designer

We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-weight Graphic Designer to join our Design team at our studio located in Oxford. Reporting to the Head of Brand but working closely with the Studio Manager, this role will cover a diverse range of projects from print, (packaging, advertising and POS) to digital, (social and web assets and videos)

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple projects at the same time, keeping them on brief and meeting deadlines.
  • Taking projects from initial concepts through final artworks to proof checking.
  • Accurately estimating time required to complete a job.
  • Attending regular team meetings and communicating effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Effective liaison between internal departments, brand collaborators and external sub-contractors to ensure smooth running of projects.
  • Daily communication with Studio Manager on work progress and input into regular design team meetings.
  • Creative thinking to produce new and effective designs that accurately reflect the brief and brand.
  • Presentation of finalised ideas to key stakeholders.
  • Working across a range of graphic software

The Ideal Candidate

  • Self-starter and passionate about producing high quality design work in a well-coordinated manner
  • Team player and excellent communicator
  • Proven experience, (minimum of two years) as a graphic designer evidencing effective design solutions across multimedia, ideally with a related degree
  • Flexible and adaptable to manage a fast-paced workload, whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Positive and inspiring team player
  • Advanced graphic software skills in InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator essential. Experience of short video making using Adobe After Effects is desirable

Candidates should have a strong portfolio clearly demonstrating an ability to approach a variety of projects whilst maintaining core brand values and effective design solutions.
