Distressed Rustic Dresser
by Annie Sloan
This dresser has been given a distressed rustic look using three colours from the Chalk Paint palette.
This dresser, probably 1940s, was given a distressed rustic finish, so that it wouldn’t look out of place in an old farmhouse. Three colours from the Chalk Paint palette were used: Primer Red, Napoleonic Blue, and Greek Blue. Sanding helped achieve the distressed look, revealing the different layers of colour, and exposing some of the wood, before being finished with Clear Chalk Paint Wax. Extra sanding was done in areas that didn’t look quite right (if they were too scratchy, for example).

The wall behind is painted in Chalk Paint in Scandinavian Pink for a contrasting look.
