The Complete Chair Makeover

In this workshop you will learn how to breath new life into an old chair.

Using a combination of traditional and modern upholstery techniques and materials.

A chair with a drop in seat pad will be provided along with everything you need for the day including refreshments and lunch.​

We will do the dirty work for you!

In advance we will strip back the seat pad, remove all padding, webbing tacks and staples etc.

Welcome refreshments and discussion on technique for the day

Making a start by painting the chair frame in a colour of your choice

Start the process to re-build the pad, by using the correct use of tools for webbing .

Apply hessian, wadding and foam.

Second coat of paint

Applying Fire retardant calico

Top layer of fabric

Finishing with Diprol on the underside of the pad.

​The final fabric can be chosen from the collection we have in stock.

Or if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own fabric but it must be suitable for this process.

Please wear closed in shoes

All our workshops are held in small groups allowing you sufficient space and our attention.

Sanitising station at the entrance and separate sanitisers are provided for you to use during the day.
