The Upholstery Seat Pad  Makeover

In this workshop you will learn how to breath new life into an old chair.

Using a combination of traditional and modern upholstery techniques and materials.

A chair with a drop in seat pad will be provided (yours to take home) along with everything you need for the day including coffee and cake

Welcome refreshments and discussion on technique for the day

We will have done the dirty work for you and removed all the old fabric, tacks and staples

You can immediately start the process to re-build the pad. Including the correct use of tools for webbing etc.

Once the seat pad has its ground work completed

We’ll take a short break and enjoy coffee and cake

After refreshments

We’ll start by applying Dacron.

Then applying Fire retardant calico

We are then ready for the top layer of fabric

Finishing with Diprol on the underside of the pad.

The final fabric can be chosen from the collection we have in stock.

Or if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own fabric but it must be suitable for this process.

Requires some physical effort using hammers, tacks, staple gun and pliers.

Please wear closed in shoes

All our workshops are held in small groups allowing you sufficient space and our attention.

Sanitising station at the entrance and separate sanitisers are provided for you to use during the day.
