Thinking about trying your hand at furniture painting?
This friendly and hands-on one-day class is a great way to dip your toe in and learn the basics.
Join me in the shop on Sunday 15th June for a relaxed session where you’ll be guided through beginner techniques using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and waxes. We’ll take our time building your confidence before you move on to painting a small furniture item of your own.
We’ll begin by experimenting with paint effects on sample boards, including:
-
Layering and distressing with two colours
-
Creating both textured and smooth finishes
-
Using clear and coloured waxes to enhance your work
Once you’ve had a chance to play and practise, you’ll get to paint a small piece you’ve brought along — think a little side table or perhaps a dining chair.
What’s included in the day:
-
All the paint, brushes, tools and aprons
-
Plenty of friendly support and guidance
-
Tea, coffee, and a light lunch
-
10% off Annie Sloan goodies bought during the session
FAQs
What should I bring?
A small piece of furniture you can carry easily — like a bedside table or a wooden chair. I’ll just need to see a photo in advance to check it’s suitable for the workshop.
What time does it run?
We’ll start at 10am and finish around 4pm, with a break for lunch in between.
What’s provided?
Everything you need is supplied on the day. Just bring yourself and your chosen piece of furniture.
How many people are in the group?
There’ll be just four participants, so you’ll have lots of space, time, and support throughout.
Please note: Workshop bookings are non-refundable. If you can’t make it, I’ll try my best to transfer your place to a future date, depending on availability.
