Knight Design Interiors - The Paint Studio

Mixing our love of fabric, chalk paint and upcycling, the Complete Chair Makeover is a popular workshop! Collaborating with our sister Studio Knight Design Interiors, we are able to offer you access to many Designer fabric remnants to upholster your chair with.

This is a full days course where you will learn how to completely strip and reupholster a drop-in seat style vintage chair (which we have sourced for you) using one of our beautiful fabrics as well as giving it your own style of chalk paint finish. All materials, including the chair are provided. You come away with invaluable skills and a brand new chair!
**Please note that this is a physical workshop involving a lot of standing and bending - comfy shoes are essential!**

The cost of this full day workshop is £149 per person and includes all the materials you will need including the chair and fabric as well as refreshments throughout the day and a sandwich lunch.

Our Introduction workshop is a fantastic place to start your Chalk Painting journey.
The introductory workshop will be a relaxed and fun three hours when you will be given the opportunity to sample the Annie Sloan paints, brushes and waxes.

This is an ideal introductory workshop suitable for beginners and those who have a little experience. During the workshop you will learn the following:
Two-colour distressing, using one colour over another
Texturing the Paint, which you will accentuate with Clear, Dark, White and Black Wax
Colour mixing, we will show you the basis behind which you can go on to mix an unlimited number of colours
Smooth finish and creating a wash effect.

This surgery session is designed for delegates who have already attended one of our Introduction workshops and would like help starting a small piece of furniture. 

We will be running a selection of these dates in the afternoon of an Intro workshop day so that you can 'tag-on' this session and bring a small piece of furniture (small bedside tables are ideal) to get started.

Or perhaps you'd like help with a specific technique you are mastering?

You will have access to all materials (and a chance to try all colours before you buy them) as well as on hand expert advice for your specific piece of furniture, to help you through the tough bits and make sure you can finish your piece with confidence!

You will have access to brushes, waxes and any tools you need.

£25pp for the first hour (minimum payment) and £15pp per hour thereafter.

Let Verity guide you through the steps (recently learned from the fabulous Jonathon Marc Mendes www.jonathonmarcmendes.com Annie Sloan's 2017 Painter in Residence ) of how to achieve a stunning reverse stencil effect on to the glass of a picture frame using Annie Sloan paints, gold size and metal leaf.

We will also show you how effective paper napkins can be in achieving a stunning decoupaged finish over chalk paint on to a wooden candlestick.
