About

De Colores Studio

De Colores Studio was born from a love of colour, creativity, craftsmanship and the joy of giving things a second life. Based in Zagreb, Croatia, our studio is a creative space dedicated to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and all the possibilities it offers for transforming furniture, interiors and everyday objects.

We offer a carefully selected range of Annie Sloan products, alongside creative tools and decorative products from brands such as Iron Orchid Designs. Whether you are looking to upcycle a treasured vintage piece, refresh a modern piece of furniture or completely transform your home or business space, we are here to inspire and help you bring your ideas to life.

For those who would rather leave the transformation to us, we offer furniture painting and interior transformation services using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and Annie Sloan Wall Paint. We also create individually transformed furniture pieces, giving old and forgotten objects a new purpose, character and style.

Education is at the heart of what we do. We organise a diverse programme of carefully designed workshops for complete beginners, experienced makers and professionals. From learning the basics of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® to exploring advanced decorative techniques, our workshops are designed to build confidence, encourage creativity and help participants develop their own style. They are also ideal for makers and creative entrepreneurs who want to expand their skills and add new techniques to their existing craft or business offering.

One of our biggest ambitions is to establish Grand Masters Zagreb as an annual meeting point for furniture painting, decorative techniques and interior transformation enthusiasts from across Europe. Our vision is to bring together passionate makers, artists, designers and creative professionals in Zagreb, creating a unique opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and be inspired by internationally recognised names from the world of decorative painting and furniture transformation.

In 2026, we are continuing this vision by welcoming Jonathon Marc Mendes back to Zagreb on 6–7 November 2026 for another special Grand Masters seminar. Jonathon, internationally known for his furniture painting, decorative techniques and creative approach, already joined us in Zagreb earlier in 2026, and we are delighted to welcome him back. Our goal is to make Grand Masters Zagreb an annual event, bringing new inspiring names and leading educators from the world of decorative techniques, furniture transformation and interior design to Croatia.

At De Colores Studio, we believe that creativity should be accessible, joyful and personal. We are passionate about creating a community around colour, craftsmanship and the endless possibilities of transformation — and about putting Zagreb on the map as a destination for creative education, furniture painting and decorative arts.

Do you offer workshops for beginners?

Absolutely. Our workshops are designed for complete beginners as well as anyone who wants to learn new techniques, gain confidence with Annie Sloan products and discover their own creative style

Do you offer workshops for experienced makers and professionals?

Yes. We offer advanced and specialised workshops for experienced makers, furniture painters and creative professionals who want to develop new techniques or expand the services and products they offer through their craft or business.

Can I bring my own piece of furniture to transform?

Selected workshops and makeover sessions allow participants to work on their own furniture pieces. We guide you through preparation, colour selection, painting and finishing to help you achieve a professional and personal result.

Do you offer furniture painting and transformation services?

Yes. We can transform your existing furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and decorative techniques, giving vintage and modern pieces a completely new look. We also offer interior transformation services for homes and businesses.

Do you sell transformed furniture?

Yes. From time to time, we offer individually transformed and upcycled furniture pieces, each given a new character using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and decorative techniques.

Where are your workshops held?

Most of our workshops take place at De Colores Studio in Zagreb, Croatia. We also organise workshops and special events in other Croatian cities and locations.
