I’m Kathy Love and so excited to open Brush of Color Creations specifically to carry Annie Sloan Paint products and to teach other people the joy of using her paint. Brush of Color Creations is open in the new Crestwood Antique Mall and Indoor Market Booth 118.

First a little about my life journey. I’m have a wonderful husband of 48 years who has graciously helped with this new endeavor. We have a son and daughter as well as a precious grandson and another sweet baby on the way due in  July.  I’m also known as “Mama Love”.

I had a 34 year full time career working in accounting and auditing and later focusing on the coal industry.  In 2016, I retired but soon had to jump back into working full-time and now as State Director regulating active coal mines.

While raising two wonderful children and enjoying a great career, I never lost my love of art and working with my hands.   I mastered sewing, under the instruction of my mother and learned from my father the art of furniture repair and restoring.  So it did not come as a surprise that when I joined a friend of mine, Jan, selling home decor and furniture purchased through estate sales.  I learned so much from her experience.  We would, of course, need to repair and update furniture.  I had used Annie Sloan products years ago, but, found that there wasn’t a Stockist in our area.   So, we just used whatever paint we could find. When we learned we had to relocate our business we decided it was time to step up our game and exclusively use Annie’s products. It was then that a light came on and the idea of representing Annie in Birmingham (ALABAMA) was born.  Brush of Color Creations officially opened on July 29, 2024 and now on April 26, 20205 has rebranded to Painted Amour.

While my friend and I are still “working our booths” , Right at Home with J&K, now some items in need of painting are used as demos up front and center at Crestwood Pickers and then moved directly to our booths for sale.  People stop to watch giving me a chance to introduce them to Annie Sloan.  Business interest has been phenomenal. Every day people walk by and say “I’m so excited you are here” So now everyone in the Birmingham and surrounding areas have a place to purchase and enjoy Annie Sloan’s wonderful products including Chalk Paint ®, Satin Paint, and Wall Paint samples for ordering and most all available products.  If you see what you need orders can be placed quickly and shipped.
