Washed Oak Cupboard
by Annie Sloan
Annie Sloan gave this cupboard a new lease of life with a simple wash of Chalk Paint.
Annie updated this old oak cupboard using a simple wash of Chalk Paint. She diluted Chalk Paint in Duck Egg Blue with water to create a consistency that allowed the wood grain to show through. Using a Chalk Paint Brush she applied the paint in all directions, pushing it into the grain of the wood. Annie finished the piece with Clear Chalk Paint Wax to protect it.
It goes perfectly with this curtain made from Annie Sloan Fabric, Tacit in Duck Egg Blue, designed with hieroglyphs, letters, numbers and shapes inspired by 1930s Lino prints.
