Annie painted this bed in a traditional Swedish folk style, using Chalk Paint and Detail Brushes.

The tonal symphony of calm neutrals is a brilliant example of how effectively Annie’s fabrics can be matched with Chalk Paint®. The floral motif on the headboard was inspired by a visit to a museum in Stockholm where she saw beautiful hand painted features including a ceiling covered in flowers and birds.

Annie painted the bed frame in Scandinavian Pink, Paris Grey and Old White then sanded with varying pressure for a three-colour distress. Using Detail Brushes she then free-hand painted this flower in a traditional folk Swedish style, with a palette of Arles, Duck Egg Blue and Aubusson Blue. Clear Chalk Paint Wax was then used to seal the design. As a final touch, the duvets and cushions are made from Annie Sloan Tickings in Old Violet and Olive.

The wall behind is painted in Wall Paint by Annie Sloan in Old Ochre with a wave of Paris Grey.
