Painted Glass Candlestick Holders
by Annie Sloan
These two glass candlestick holders were a second-hand shop find. Originally in a shiny metallic finish, they were given a soft, Bohemian finish with Chalk Paint.
Annie found these candlestick holders in a second-hand shop for under £2 and was drawn to their shape, although wasn’t overly keen on the shiny, metallic finish. So, she took to Chalk Paint to transform them.
You will need:
• Two candlesticks- these particular ones were made out of glass, with a shiny finish.
• Chalk Paint in a variety of colours. Annie used Scandinavian Pink, Giverny, Old White, Honfleur, Antoinette and Château Grey.
• Clear Chalk Paint Wax
• Brushes
Annie started by painting the candlesticks with a base colour of Scandinavian Pink. Inspired by the bohemian interiors at Charleston Farmhouse, she added designs freehand in her chosen earthy palette of Giverny, Old White, Honfleur, Antoinette and Château Grey.
Once happy with your design she apply Chalk Paint Wax to seal the work.
