The Seat Pad Makeover
9.30am -2pm(ish)
In this workshop you will learn how to breath new life into an old chair.
Using a combination of traditional and modern upholstery techniques and materials.
A chair with a drop in seat pad will be provided along with everything you need (apart from top layer of fabric) for the day including refreshments
The chair is yours to take home to paint if you decide, at your own leisure.
We will do the dirty work for you and strip the seat pad in advance!

Morning
Welcome refreshments and discussion on technique for the day

Start the process to re-build the pad.
Including the correct use of tools for webbing etc
Processes using.
Webbing, Hessian, Wadding, Foam, and Dacron are supplied by us

Time to take a quick breather for coffee and cake

We then apply fire retardant calico supplied by us
Then your own top layer of fabric
Finishing with Diprol on the underside of the pad supplied by us.
Please bring with you your own top layer of fabric
When learning this skill we suggest staying away from stripes, checks and shiny fabrics.
Suitability can be discussed at time of booking
If you have specific dietary requirements, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments
