Painter in Residence Chloe Kempster used Chalk Paint™ in Scandinavian Pink as the basis for her abstract floral design on this vintage cabinet.

The key to this first look by Chloe Kempster’s first piece as Painter in Residence is rustic romanticism. Chloe of Maisie’s House first applied a very rough base coat of Chalk Paint™ in Scandinavian Pink, leaving small areas of raw wood.

After practising her fluid, expressionist line drawings in her sketchbook to build her confidence, Chloe then used a Small Detail Brush and Chalk Paint™ in Old White to reproduce her free-flowing floral pattern directly onto her furniture. She sealed with Clear Chalk Paint™ Wax then added some extra details using Black Chalk Paint™ Wax. If you’re less confident, you can always draw guidelines with a pencil.
