This mid-century modern cabinet has been painted with Chalk Paint® in Oxford Navy and accented with Bright Gold Gilding Wax and Gold Leaf for added richness.

This mid-century cabinet (sourced from Annie’s local British Heart Foundation furniture store!) has been painted in Chalk Paint® in Oxford Navy to contrast with the rich, dark wood and a strip below the drawers has been gilded in Bright Gold Gilding Wax. Clear Chalk Paint® Wax protects and finishes.

Annie made this origami star under the tutorage of one of her Japanese Stockist. We’ve found a similar step by step here. Use medium thickness card for best results. The finished star was then painted in Chalk Paint® in Coco before being gilded using Bright Gold Gilding Wax, applied with a Detail Brush and a stippling motion to give texture. The pinecones were also gilded using Bright Gold Wax and the picture frame is Chalk Paint® in Burgundy, Gold Imitation Leaf and finished with Chalk Paint® Lacquer to prevent tarnishing. Found foliage was placed on the cabinet for extra seasonal cheer. The wall behind is Wall Paint in Paris Grey.
