Collaborations

Annie Sloan and Oxfam

Annie Sloan teamed up with Oxfam to create the Chalk Paint® colour Lem Lem in 2017. Sales of Lem Lem raised vital funds for Oxfam, helping beat poverty worldwide. Lem Lem is still available to purchase.

Annie took inspiration for this colour from the rolling fields of soft green allium plants which she saw whilst exploring the farms and communities supported by Oxfam’s “Ethiopian Seed Project”, in 2017. These alliums are grown by women farmers who are supported in starting and maintaining their own businesses by Oxfam.

The name Lem Lem means “to flourish” in Amharic, which is the main language in Ethoipia. It’s a word the farmers taught Annie, and she thought it was the perfect name for the new colour because like the Seed Project itself it represents hope.
