This original 1940s bureau has been given a stylish and sympathetic makeover by Chloe Kempster.

Chloe Kempster transformed this plain bureau into a stylish Scandinavian Pink statement piece. Inspired by the traditional colours found in much Swedish furniture, Chalk Paint® in Scandinavian Pink is fast replacing the trending millennial pink as the colour of choice for interiors!

Chloe started by painting the bureau in a mix of Chalk Paint® in Scandinavian Pink and Old White, for a slightly peachier colour. Once dry, Chloe used Dark and Clear Chalk Paint® Wax around the edges and detailed parts of the bureau, to create depth and interest. She painted the inside shelves with Graphite to create a strong contrast of colour and left a little of the original wood showing, as a nod to this vintage piece’s origins. Finally she used Clear Wax all over to seal and protect her paint work.
