Annie Sloan Painters in Residence projects at a glimpse

Carina Reimers

Welcome to our latest Painter in Residence, The House Warmings!

It’s that time again! We are delighted to announce our latest Painter in Residence, The House Warmings, aka Carina Reimers!

Carina painted her first piece of furniture in her early teens. She says: “I was so in awe of the transformation the dresser underwent and the rewarding feeling it gave me. Nearly four decades later, I still chase the same excitement with each piece.”

After moving from Hamburg, Germany to Cleveland, Ohio, she and her husband quickly became aware of all the furniture they had accumulated. She decided to start her own business in 2012, so that she could continue her passion for collecting and transforming unloved furniture without filling her entire home. “I am lucky to live in a supportive community that loves to spread the word about budding small businesses and was quickly introduced to Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan through my local stockist at that time: Methenyweir,” Carina tells us.

She continues, “Chalk Paint® was like an invitation to experiment because of how easy it is to use, how quickly it dries and because of how it can be used to create effects like texture, washes, blending and so much more. I am now working out of a studio and love starting the day there as I sip my espresso and let the sunrise inspire me.”

We’ll be unveiling Carina’s PIR pieces over on our Inspiration Pages in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Lovers of rustic, distressed, playfully-painted furniture, these are for you!
