Our store was opened in November 2015 in our original space which was 1500 sq ft..it opened as a concession store to showcase and support local small businesses. Soon our workshops were introduced and it took off from there! Two years later we moved to our current location in the heart of Downtown Milton and in 2020 during the height of a worldwide pandemic the space beside us became available so we took the plunge and extended, added a cafe with a bigger area for workshops and turned it into the amazing business we have today! When you enter through the doors you will instantly be hit with quirky decor, you may spot E.T. in the basket of a hanging bicycle, see fun pictures of things with an Irish twist ( I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland and moved to Canada just over 11 years ago) or maybe the workshop space will catch your eye first! It has a very rustic charm mixed with a modern vibe and is a fantastic place to hang out, do some work at the cafe, get crafty at one of our workshops or get some painting tips! We have just become an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint stockist and have been a stockist of Fusion Mineral Paint for a few years now. We host workshops regularly, our most popular are our make what you want workshops were everyone can choose what they want to create from our extensive range of projects and I work with each attendee beforehand, creating their designs for them before they attend on the day. Kids parties are very popular also, creating the next generation of painters and during the Christmas months we get busy with team building events also. We have a wide range of customers, from ladies who brunch, out of office workers, first time painters doing home projects, mums with their children, students and we lend out our cafe space to local groups who just need a space to meet up, have a coffee or glass of wine. We will also be opening a vinyl record store at the back of our store where our original workshop was..it will be called Back of the Barn Vinyls and will complete our very eclectic, local loving store!
