Colour Blocking with Paint and Fabric

This antique chair was destined for the skip before Annie salvaged it. With simple paintwork and beautiful reupholstery, Annie was able to give the chair a new lease of life and a contemporary twist.

Colour blocking gives this antique chair a contemporary twist. The bold colour scheme on the chair – with different Linen Union fabrics used on both seat and back – is echoed in the room where the walls are painted with Wall Paint in Aubusson Blue.

The trim and curtain is Linen Union in English Yellow + Antibes Green. The seat back is Provence + Aubusson Blue and the seat is Emile + Graphite. The chair frame has been painted with Chalk Paint® in French Linen and sanded back for a light distress before sealing with Clear Wax.
