Johnson & Black……. Beautifully British

After a very successful career as a Designer in Home Textiles, traveling the Globe, experiencing the sights and senses of the World, I created new and exciting product which could be found at Major Retailers here in North America, Europe, and the UK. In 2020 I decided to create my own personal Brand and Lifestyle Experience by continuing to create Great New, Exciting and Inspirational Design, reflecting my Personal Aesthetic, Values, and Inspiration.

Johnson & Black……. Beautifully British, a Lifestyle Home Fashion Boutique from our home to yours with love!. I have curated an eclectic mix of vintage and new items that live seamlessly together to create our little piece of paradise in the heart of historic downtown Green Lake. Featuring the amazing Annie Sloan chalk paint line along with other beautifully collected products from the England and Scotland and, many more gems carefully gathered from around the globe. Linens form Belgium, cleaning products from Australia, hand & beauty from France, wallcoverings from Canada, luxurious textiles from India to name but a few. You will often find me with paint brush in hand restoring and giving new purpose to an old worn piece of furniture or climbing on ladders when inspiration takes over and I just have to get my latest vision on the wall or hanging from the ceiling!

The name “Johnson & Black” comes from the names of two powerful and instrumental Women, who have Influenced me, taught me and inspired me, my mother, Valerie Hope Johnson and my Mother in Law, Mary Brogan Black, “Johnson & Black” reflects not only the strong individual characteristics of these two Women, but also the Powerful Imagery and heritage of Britain, namely England, Scotland and Ireland.
Born in the Northeast of England, my youth was spent on the Beautiful rugged coastline and the dramatic hills of Northumberland, with many a Summer spent in the Highlands of Scotland and the rolling dales of Yorkshire. Raised with Strong Family values and the love and support of my amazing husband Rob, my underlying drive has been to create Design and Product to turn a house into a Home, a Home for and full of Love.

My desire is to create a vision of Beauty and Love – “Johnson & Black – Beautifully British” I welcome you to join me on a journey of Vision and Beauty in our quaint little hamlet in historic Green Lake Wisconsin.
