UK furniture painter Elizabeth Dot Design painted this vintage bureau with Chalk Paint® in Lem Lem for a fresh, retro feel.

Etsy seller Elizabeth Dot Design has given this retro bureau a modern update using Chalk Paint® to create an asymmetric, geometric design.

She began by using masking tape to tape-up her design – which left a large triangle of the original mid-century wood showing through. The masking tape allowed Elizabeth to create the perfect crisp lines and edges, synonymous with her signature style. She created a smooth finish using an Annie Sloan Flat Brush to compliment the modern design. The piece is waxed with Clear Chalk Paint® Wax to protect the paint and maintain a matte finish.
