The Complete Chair Makeover

In this workshop you will learn how to breath new life into an old chair.

Using a combination of traditional and modern upholstery techniques and materials.

A chair with a drop in seat pad will be provided along with everything you need for the day including refreshments and lunch.​

• Morning

Welcome refreshments and discussion on technique for the day

Making a start with painting the chair frame in a colour of your choice

Strip back the seat pad, removing all padding, webbing tacks and staples etc.

Start the process to re-build the pad. Including the correct use of tools for webbing etc

• A lite lunch will be available

If you have specific dietary requirements, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments and lunch.

Applying Fire retardant calico

Top layer of fabric

Finishing with Diprol on the underside of the pad.

​The final fabric can be chosen from the collection we have in stock.

Or if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own fabric but it must be suitable for this process.

Numbers are limited to just two per workshop.

Requires some physical effort using hammers, tacks, staple gun and pliers.

Please wear closed in shoes

All our workshops are held in small groups allowing you sufficient space.

Sanitising station at the entrance and separate sanitisers are provided for you to use during the day.
