Making Texture for Dark Wax
This is best achieved when Chalk Paint® is a little thick so don't add water to the paint. You may need to leave the paint pot open for a short time to make it thicken a little. Paint with a bristle brush (the oval Annie Sloan ones are good for this) and apply Chalk Paint® in different directions all over.
Now it is painted and dry, tackle the waxing a section at a time. First apply Annie Sloan Clear Soft Wax allowing it to absorb in to the paint so the surface seems 'dry' to the touch. Now apply Annie Sloan Dark Soft Wax rubbing ever which way so the Dark Soft Wax seeks out all the crevices and texture of the painted surface. Leave to absorb for a minute or so then wipe off the excess with a clean dry cloth.
The Dark Soft Wax should now be apparent filling the grooves and ruts in the paint work. To clean the paint, wipe with Clear Soft Wax so it looks like the image above.
