The ANNIE SLOAN design team believe that the kitchen is the centre of the home and a space in which the family can be together. The aim is to bring all of the rooms of the house into the kitchen; the living room, the dining room, even the ambience of the bedroom. The design team create a very practical space around the client's needs and the area available, questioning the client's requirements as the design process progresses. Through an organic, artistic process, an ANNIE SLOAN bespoke kitchen is created. Most importantly, furniture is created that will last.
An ANNIE SLOAN kitchen is a solid wood kitchen made with tulip wood and incorporating dovetail joints throughout. The drawers are traditional, solid boxes with wooden knobs. The kitchen will be finished in chalk paint selected from the ANNIE SLOAN paint range. This finish can either remain as a solid colour or be waxed and distressed to reveal the character of the wood. If specially commissioned, it is also possible for Annie to paint 'signature' kitchens.
Creating the kitchen
The ANNIE SLOAN design team visit the client's house to discuss initial ideas for the space. An estimate will then be supplied, in response to the client's choice of cabinetry, worktops and the extent of work involved. If the parameters of this fee are satisfactory, initial designs will then be started. A second meeting will then be arranged to discuss the plans/drawings. This process is ongoing and the designers work closely with the client during the project. Cost implications will be communicated to the client throughout if the emerging design is more costly than the original specification estimated for.
