Creating a Natural Crackle Effect
No need for any other product. Simply paint a layer of Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, (not too thin, but a thickish layer of paint that is not to dry) and then use a hair dryer on it immediately and it will crack. Bring out the cracks by first using clear wax then using Annie Sloan Dark Soft Wax rubbed into the cracks. Make it more apparent by wiping clear over the surface to remove the excess Dark Soft Wax.
If you live it a hot sunny place then put your piece in the sun!
